Adopting

Requirements for becoming an Adoptive Parent:

Adopting a child through Trumbull County Children Services can be a rewarding and heartfelt experience for the adopted child and for the adopting parent. There are many children in our custody who are waiting to be adopted.

Children waiting to be adopted are teenagers, children who have special needs such as physical, emotional, and mental disabilities or sibling groups who should remain together.

Adoption today is quite different from years past. You can be single, be a renter, and even have children.

Children Services seeks couples or single adults who will love and share their homes with waiting children.

To adopt a child through Trumbull County Children Services you must be licensed, fulfilling the same requirements as Foster Parents.

Note that there are no fees or costs for becoming an adoptive parent.

Children in our care that are available for adoption can be seen on the "Adopt Ohio" website. You will see pictures and profiles.
